The latest addition to the growing Radar team is someone you'll most certainly cross paths with. Say hello to Morgan Sherwood who is already adeptly leading our community support efforts, nurturing the increasingly thriving community around Radar, and ensuring we're on top of your needs.

Morgan has a long history of getting this stuff just right, most recently from her two years at Slide, which she joined in the very early days. She's also an avid photographer, so expect to see some of her work making its way into the Gallery and elsewhere.

The Webby Award ceremony was a hell of a party.

Ian and I are just back from a whirlwind trip to NY to meet some press and attend the Webby Award Gala. It was a spectacular night by all accounts. Saturday Night Live head writer Seth Meyers hosted the night, handing out Webbys to the best of the web. Radar advisor will.i.am was there to accept his Artist of the Year award, presented to him by Ludacris, and lots of other celebrities were in attendance, from Al Gore to Steven Colbert to David Byrne.

We, of course, were thrilled to accept our People's Voice Webby for Mobile Social Network and we couldn't have done it without your vote. Thanks again.

Today we're pleased to announce two important additions to the executive team here at Tiny Pictures.

Sylvio Drouin joined us recently as Chief Technology Officer, leading the team building all the technology Radar sits on and ensuring it runs smoothly. He's a mad scientist, a technology visionary, and deeply experienced in a whole host of areas that will bear fruit in the months and years to come.

Larry Higdon just came on board as our new Vice President of Business Development and Sales. He's already leading the charge in expanding our reach around the world, through partnerships both traditional and revolutionary.

Welcome to the New Radar

Today we unveiled an all-new Radar site, with a significantly simplified and refreshed design. We hope you'll feel right at home in the new site, but here are some things you might be wondering.

Why redesign Radar now?

Although we've introduced a bunch of new features since launching Radar, the core structure has remained relatively unchanged since its original design. Since then, we've seen dramatic growth around the world and we've been thinking a lot about how to improve your experience across the service, both on the desktop and on your phone. In order to accomplish our goals, we rethought some core aspects of the Radar interface from the ground up, and while we were at it we improved navigation and brightened up the place.

What is My Radar?

My Radar is the hub of the new site, and where you'll find the latest posts from all of your friends (both groups and individuals) and Gallery channels you subscribe to: everything on your Radar. From My Radar, you can also access and manage your friends and subscriptions by selecting the appropriate link on the left-hand side of the page.

What happened to 'Everything'?

What was called 'Everything' is now called 'Posts', and this is where you land after logging into Radar. All of your friends' and subscriptions' latest posts are accessible from here.

Where are all my friends and subscriptions?

Don't worry, all of your friends and subscriptions are still there. We've moved friend and subscription management to new pages accessible from the Friends and Subscriptions links on the left side of the page within My Radar. From these pages you can add and remove friends and subscriptions, or navigate to a specific friend's channel.

What about groups?

Groups are now called Friend Lists: private groupings of friends for easy filtering and privacy. Any Friends Lists you create will appear under Posts, allowing you to easily use them to filter what's showing on your Radar. To create or edit the members of a friends list, go to the Friends page.

This redesign took place under the covers, setting the stage for a host of new functionality to be unveiled throughout the summer. We hope you enjoy, and most importantly keep in touch.

Ray and the Brown Squad at Bay to Breakers

With all the excitement around here and summer just around the corner, we wanted to take some time to thank the community. If you happen to be in the San Francisco area on Thursday May 29, we'd love to share the occasion with as many of you as possible.

For this special event Radar is proud to join forces with Lazy Day Recordings and none other than Fred Everything and Olivier Desmet, two international house music superstars and local DJ favorites. Also joining the lineup are The Autist and Arsen, two regulars at world-renowned Stereo Afterhours in Montreal. This marks their SF debut, and these guys won't disappoint.

Radar United Takes 2008 Championships!

Radar United - the San Francisco Soccer League team we sponsor - recently made us proud and took home the Championship Cup this season.

After being down 0-2 at halftime, Radar United rallied to oust LA Firpo and win the final game 3-2. Led by skipper Brian Gendron, the team completed the season with an impressive 5 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.

Radar United got off to a slow start in the beginning of the season, but turned things around after some soul-searching. Every player came ready to bring it during the second half of the season.

MVP honors go to Jeff Miller for his motivating "believe" speech from the sidelines in the final game. Recognition also goes out to Tom Tsatsos for his amazing goals in the finals (while maintaining the best hair on the team).

Great job, Radar United! You done us proud!

Notification Maintenance

For those of you who get Radar notifications via AIM and Facebook, we're going to make them even better. To improve our notification delivery, we'll be doing some maintenance on Radar over the next several days and will need to disable AIM and Facebook notifications during this time. However, Radar will continue to work normally so keep those pictures coming! And stay tuned for additional status updates.
