Team Radar

Ray and the Brown Squad will be out this Sunday for San Francisco's famous Bay to Breakers event. Swing by the official Race After Party at Golden Gate Park to say hello and pick up some free Radar swag. If the event is anything like it was last year, this should be quite a day.

Hope to see you there!

Time for a Radar party!

Radar Poster - FINAL.pdf-2.jpgWith all the excitement around here and summer just around the corner, we wanted to take some time to thank the community. If you happen to be in the San Francisco area on Thursday May 29, we'd love to share the occasion with as many of you as possible.

For this special event Radar is proud to join forces with Lazy Day Recordings and none other than Fred Everything and Olivier Desmet, two international house music superstars and local DJ favorites. Also joining the lineup are The Autist and Arsen, two regulars at world-renowned Stereo Afterhours in Montreal. This marks their SF debut, and these guys won't disappoint.

Voted Best New Club in America by URB Magazine and featuring one of the craziest sound systems we've ever heard, Mighty [link to Mighty site map or Google Maps] is the ideal venue for what's sure to be an incredible night.

The whole Radar team will be on hand, including Ray, and we look forward to saying hello.

Doors open at 10. No cover charge.

Radar United Takes 2008 Championships!

Radar United - the San Francisco Soccer League team we sponsor - recently made us proud and took home the Championship Cup this season.

After being down 0-2 at halftime, Radar United rallied to oust LA Firpo and win the final game 3-2. Led by skipper Brian Gendron, the team completed the season with an impressive 5 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.

Radar United got off to a slow start in the beginning of the season, but turned things around after some soul-searching. Every player came ready to bring it during the second half of the season.

MVP honors go to Jeff Miller for his motivating "believe" speech from the sidelines in the final game. Recognition also goes out to Tom Tsatsos for his amazing goals in the finals (while maintaining the best hair on the team).

Great job, Radar United! You done us proud!

We're in Panama City all week spreading the word about Radar. Sun, sand, music... You name it, it's here!

Come back to our blog often to see what's happening on the beaches of Florida, or better yet swing by the Radar tent in person to say hello.

Have a great break everyone!

It's T time!

UPDATE: Response has been phenomenal, and supplies are now exhausted. Thanks.

***************

As you might expect, a lot of our friends love Radar as much as we do, and one of the ways they show it is by wearing their Radar T-Shirts all the time.

So we got to thinking: Why not let our friends on the web get in on the T-Shirt action?  In fact, why not send them one for free?  Well, today is everyone's lucky day, because starting now we'll be doing just that.

Send us an email with your size (mens or womens from Small to XL) along with your address, and we'll ship one right out!  The Ts are form-fitting, 100% cotton made by American Apparel.  Check it out:

The catch? There is none!  Consider it our thank-you for being a part of the Radar team. Enjoy.

Radar Tag: You're It!

A few weeks back, Conlan, one of our mobile developers, posted a picture of John Poisson, Tiny Picture's CEO and founder, to Radar with the title: "Radar Tag: John's It".

John immediately knew that Conlan was on to something interesting, and Radar Tag was born.

Ever since that first picture, someone from Tiny would randomly start a new game of Radar Tag and a slew of tags would follow afterwards.  We've had so much fun playing Radar Tag over the past few months that we simply had to share it with the Radar community.

The basic rules of Radar Tag are similar to the beloved children's game but with a photographic twist:

  • Tag someone by posting a picture of their face to Radar
  • The subject must not know that you've tagged them until the picture is posted to Radar
  • You must be It to tag someone, and you are It until you tag someone else
There are some more advanced rules that evolved over the course of play, but as with any game, the more rules, the less fun the game becomes.  The most important rule of Radar Tag is to have fun - the rest is up to you.  You're It!
Come hang out with Ray (our souped-up 1965 Ford Econoline) and the Radar Brown Squad at this year's Icer Air competition at AT&T Park in San Francisco. We'll be in the Radar booth with tons of T-shirts and other swag to give out, including a Nintendo Wii. You'll find us right next to the skatepark.

Icer Air 2007 events include the Big Air Invitational, BMX and Skate Vert, Freestyle Motocross and tons more.

If you can't make it, make sure to follow the action right here as we post pictures and videos throughout the event.

We drink a lot of iced coffee here at Radar headquarters. Some might say we're obsessed.

Imagine our surprise when a tragically spilled venti took the shape of America:
